The following Terms of Use is a legal contract between an individual user and Official Cleaning Department regarding the use of our website and services.

Welcome to the website of Official Cleaning Department. By accessing our site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions of Use and are bound by all applicable laws and regulations.

The site and its original content, features, and services are owned by Official Cleaning Department and are protected by international copyright, trademark, intellectual property, and other proprietary rights laws.

If, for any reason, we believe that our Terms and Conditions have not been upheld, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our website without prior notice or liability.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ fees are payable by the client immediately upon completion of services by cash, BACS or card payment unless otherwise agreed with company owner.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ reserves the right to suspend services if payments are not received within 7 days of invoice.

Cleaners can only give a rough estimate of the duration of the cleaning service, which is based on a basic description of the customer’s house. Please note that the cleaner may discuss a variation on the planned duration if, in practice, it appears to be required.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ agrees to provide all cleaning detergents and equipment required to carry out the service., unless other arrangements have been made with the company owner. Any cleaning equipment provided by the client, should be safe and in full working order.

If collection of keys is required from a location outside of the postal code area or normal working hours, charges may apply.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ will not be held responsible for any alarm systems. Clients should give any special instructions for deactivation/activation of any household alarm systems.

All cleaners registered with ‘Official Cleaning Department’ and working on our behalf have been fully screened through a personal interview and checking of references and employment history.

The client must allow the cleaner access to hot water and power.

By entering under these Terms and Conditions with ‘Official Cleaning Department’ after the termination of the cleaning service provided by ‘Official Cleaning Department’ the client must not hire or use any home related services provided by a present or past cleaner introduced to the client by ‘Official Cleaning Department’. If the client does wish to hire or use home related services provided by such a cleaner our referral fee is 250€.

In the case of a complaint, ‘Official Cleaning Department’ requires to be notified within 24 hours after of completion of the cleaning service.

All fragile and highly breakable items must secured or removed. Items excluded          from liability are: cash, items of sentimental value, art and antiques.

Any changes to the service to be provided must be agreed to by the owner of ‘Official Cleaning Department’ prior to the starting of any work. If the customer requires any additional services or variations at the time of the cleaning service is being performed, the client must first contact ‘Official Cleaning Department’ management by telephone or message, who may agree to provide the additional services in its absolute discretion. The cleaner is not authorised to agree to any changes or variations to the service provided without consulting management. The client must not request any changes or variations directly from the cleaner.

Abuse or assault, verbal or physical, on our staff will not be tolerated and legal action or criminal prosecution will be taken against any client or third party who is in breach of this subsection.

For first time clients and one-off clients, we take before and after photographs of our work. These pictures are used for training, proof of performance as well as promotion on and off social media. If you do not want pictures taken of work areas in your home please notify us when you schedule your cleaning.

If you require anything moved and cleaned behind that weighs more than 50lbs then you must move the furniture/item before the cleaning service is scheduled.

Payment is requested on completion on the day of the cleaning service.

Payment can be made in cash on completion of the cleaning service.

Payment can be made by BACS transfer, debit or credit card on completion of cleaning services. Payment apps are accepted with previous agreement from the company owner in writing.

If payment is not made after 30 days of the invoice then the account will be passed to our collection’s agency, after which a charge of 15% on top of the initial invoice due, will be added to the debt. You agree as part of these Terms and Conditions to pay this sum which represents our reasonable costs in collecting the unpaid amounts.

All ‘Official Cleaning Department’ prices are reviewed each year and adjusted in line with inflation, minimum wage increases or any reasonable circumstances.

The client accepts and understands that breakage/damage must be reported to the company owner within 24 hours from the service date. Failure to do so will entitle the client to no refunds or recovery cleanings.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ may require the presence of the client or his/her representative in the beginning and at the end of the cleaning service as an inspection can then be carried out. If any corrections are required they should be made the same day.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ may take up to 7 working days to respond to a complaint.

Complaints are accepted verbally over the phone or in writing, they must be received within 24 hours of the completion of the cleaning service.

Key replacement/locksmith fees are only paid if our operatives are at fault.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ has Public Liability Insurance. The policy will cover any accidental damages caused by an operative working on behalf of ‘Official Cleaning Department’ and reported within 24 hours.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ reserves the right to refuse to share any of it’s confidential company documents.

The client understands that he/she is not entitled to any refunds.

If the client is not completely satisfied with the cleaning service ‘Official Cleaning Department’ will re-clean any areas and items to the customers satisfaction, therefore the client must allow the cleaner to return within 3 working days.

The client may be present at all times during the recovery clean. ‘Official Cleaning Department’ reserves the right to not return a cleaner more than once.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ reserves the right to not be liable for:

Completing tasks which are not stated on the task list or been discussed with the company owner.

Cleaning services not completed due to lack of hot water or power.

Third parties entering the premises during the cleaning service.

Wear or discolouring of fabric or surfaces made more visible once dirt has been removed.

Any damages caused by faulty or not in full working order equipment/detergents supplied by the client.

If the client has special items that need specific cleaning methods/detergents, ‘Official Cleaning Department’ reserve the right to refuse to carry this out.

The client may cancel or adjust the time of a cleaning visit/s by giving at least 24 hours advanced notice.

The client agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit if the customer cancels or changes the date/time less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.

The client agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit in the event of a lock-out caused by our cleaners being turned away; no one home to let them in; or problem with client’s keys.

The client may terminate the cleaning service by giving two weeks advanced notice in writing and specifying the last cleaning date and give reason.

‘Official Cleaning Department’ has built its business and reputation by providing its clients with the best possible cleaning service available. Still, the company realises, that because its operatives are human beings, they sometimes make mistakes. For this reason, the company offers a guarantee. If the client is not satisfied with any areas that have been cleaned, the company’s operative will come back to the premises and re-clean those areas free of charge.

Please note this guarantee will not apply if the condition of the premises has deteriorated since the original cleaning was undertaken.
